Roanoke Times Editorial

The Roanoke Times had an editorial in today's paper that deals with the recent Council vote to hire a consulting firm to come up with conceptual plans for the Market Building. If you missed it, please visit:

I think it does a good job of addressing the need for vision in directing the renovation of the building. I encourage you to read it.

Court: We have not had the opportunity to meet, but I sure like the way you think. Your reasons for your "no" vote on the Market Building study were in my opinion exactly correct. Vision - review prior reports - budget - hire architect! Seems so straight forward and logical. That is the way other responsible Governments handle that type of business. By the way the City has already paid for a Market Building Conditions Report, Spectrum Design did it, so why does Council want to pay for another one?

Court is right. It is funny if you watch his votes and comments he is just asking logical business related questions and is making sensible votes. It is not like he is some genius he is simply logical which makes me wonder what color the sky is in Bowers, Trinkle, Mason, Nash, Price, and Lea's world. Frankly I do not trust their motives. Some are motivated by re-election, some by where they live, and I cannot tell what motivates Bowers or Price as they are just taking up space. Good luck Court you will need it!
